From desert sheiks in fabled kingdoms with Silhouette to PsyChangelings today, Nalini Singh knows her worldbuilding. For her fifth book in the PsyChangeling series, Hostage to Pleasure, she asks:
Which fictional world would you most like to be held hostage in?
When I think of all the amazing worlds out there, it’s hard to decide. Frank Herbert’s futuristic Dune? I love desert camping, but I’m not sure I want to drink my own sweat. The alterni-fantasy-Europe of Jacqueline Carey’s Kushiel world where the first law is Love As Thou Wilt? Tempting, but I know I’m not beautiful enough.
Maybe the contemporary world of my own stories where evil stalks the shadows… but so do powerful heroes? Hmm. Oh wait, I’m held hostage there already, every freakin’ night at my computer. So there’s my answer, I guess. What’s yours?
